Play-It-Again

PLAY-IT-AGAIN is the second step, working with kids who have participated in our PLAYMAKING program. PLAY-IT-AGAIN begins with weekly classes in which the kids are taught more advanced playwriting skills. The kids are then (as before) introduced to their own creative teams of two actors and one dramturg/director. But this time around, we up the dramatic ante by asking the kids to introduce a third, "cameo-moment" character into each of the plays. All of the cameo roles are played by a single adult actor who is interviewed by all of the kids, press conference style! And once again, each playwright sits at the onstage Playwrights Desk as her or her play is being performed.
